Our programmes are for anyone who wants an international academic experience: learn through a real project, earn a university certificate and discover a country.

Discovery programme

Certificate in Intercultural Competence & Co-development

For 3 weeks to 1 month, you join IUIT students in Yaoundé to build a project together that meets a need identified on the ground. You discover other teaching methods, another academic culture and a country you can only truly understand by living there.

The Bridge2Education local team supports you on site from start to finish.

How it works

The programme step by step

  1. 01

    Preparation

    Modules on the history, cultures and development challenges of Cameroon before you leave.

  2. 02

    Immersion and project

    In Yaoundé, teamed up with IUIT students, you design a useful project rooted in local needs.

  3. 03

    Reflective report

    You analyse your experience and suggest co-development actions.

  4. 04

    Final presentation

    You present your work to a mixed Swiss–Cameroonian panel. The certificate is then awarded.

Exchange goes both ways. We are preparing programmes to welcome young university students from across the African continent to Switzerland for training and professional immersion.

Frequently asked questions

Do I need to be a student?

No. You just need to be at least 18. If you are enrolled at a university, you can also have this experience recognised in your studies.

How much does the programme cost?

Fees are available on request. Write to us via the contact form and we will send you the programme details.

How do I apply?

Fill in the contact form and choose “Apply”. We will get back to you to discuss your plans, then let you know about the selection.

Who supports us on site?

Our local team looks after you in Yaoundé throughout your stay, together with IUIT.

I don’t live in Switzerland. Can I take part?

Yes. Our programmes start from Switzerland but are open to everyone, wherever you live.
